We are happy to say that we have not had any difficulty maintaining the epic pace set during the last few trips here at Peregrine Lodge. Once again we have seen many great Tyees reeled in, with a couple more fish eclipsing the 50 pound mark!
The first big fish came on the first morning under beautiful blue skies when Gregg Vernon landed a 32-pound Chinook with his guide Jake. In itself, this doesn’t raise too many eyebrows, but what was truly remarkable was that within less than an hour, in the exact same spot just off of Snake Rock, Gregg had another beautiful fish on his line. This time the number was much higher, coming in at a fantastic 51 pounds! The day was not done there, as only a few hours later, Terrye Kemp added to and released a great 47 pounder with her guide Johnny. This surprised nobody, as it seems like every year Terrye manages to find the big ones, holding a fishing resume that few can match.
The second day did not cool down, with Eric Buhler managing to get through the relentless abundance of Coho to snag a stunning 50-pound Tyee with his guide Gord! They were fishing off of Snake Rock yet again, and it was a great fight that ended with a healthy release and some seemingly permanent smiles.
Wrapping up the trip was a beautiful 37-pound Tyee courtesy of Brody Halewich, who landed this impressive Chinook at Lynn Rocks under the guidance of Larson. With calm seas the entire time and near constant action, it was another great trip here at Peregrine! With all of these big fish coming in, the staff as well as the guests are waking up excited every day, and there is a real buzz around the lodge, with everyone wondering what each day will bring, and who will be the Hero! It is a great thing to be a part of.
