Hogust Comes Early This Year
The last trip of July of this 30th anniversary year was shared with an amazing group of returnees of families and their associates. Our first time guests to Peregrine Lodge had one of the best groups to be with it. The 1st day of the trip was a great start to the fishing as Dale and our Guide Neal weighed in a 47 pound Chinook! Also, Fin caught his first ever Chinook this trip. Surely the first of many when he makes the trip back here to the Haida Gwaii as we hope he does. Both Dale and Buz caught their maximum allotted Salmon for the trip.
On day 1 two Tyee were caught, one 31 pound Chinook and one 47 pound Chinook. Dale caught and kept his 47 pound Chinook and won the Catch Of The Day with his hog and was guided by Neil. Don’s 31 pound Tyee was caught and kept by him too, guided by our Guide Craig. Craig bagged a 28 pound Chinook guided by Brian. A 27 pound Chinook was kept by Walter guided by Dave. Brody caught and retained his 25 pound Chinook guided by kai. Zach landed a 21 and 20 pound Chinook guided by Mike. Robert, Buz and Chris all brought in and kept 21 pound Chinook Salmon. They were guided by Brian, Jorgen and Greg respectively.
Kimberly had the Catch Of The Day on Day 2 with her 29 pound Chinook guided by Mike. Nalani and Danielle both kept their 21 pound Chinook. Nalani was guided by Greg and Danielle by Butcher. Chris and Dale caught and took home a 20 pound Chinook each guided by Neil and Jake.
Two Tyee were caught and kept to take home on day 3. The Catch Of The Day went to Buz with his 35 pound Tyee guided by Cody. Danielle weighed in a 30 pound Tyee guided by Steve that she took home as well. Don caught a 27 pound Chinook guided by Jorgen. A 24 pound Chinook was caught by Ron guided by Kai. Roy caught and took home his 23 pound Chinook with our Guide Jorgen. Robert retained his 21 pound Chinook guided by Brian to twin his 21 pounder he caught on day 1.
This was another special trip of family and close associates that have been returning to this special place for many years. A very special thank you to Russ, whom has come to Peregrine Lodge several times from Manitoba, and to our new guests from California. Thank you to the Toigo group for sharing our 30th anniversary. Together with our Guides and onshore staff we are truly honored. We will be awaiting your next trip and be over the moon to serve you all again. Come back for the fishing, the amazing cuisine and first class hospitality. We will celebrate our 31 anniversary. Cheers, here is where your wishes of big fishes come true.
