Arriving in Vancouver
Entering Canada by Air, Land or Sea
We advise that guests entering Canada by plane, car, or boat ensure that their passports are valid and ready to go. This rule is also applicable to US citizens that are planning on re-entering in the US via car or boat. If you have any questions or concerns regarding international travel feel free to visit border security websites for both Canada and USA.
For guests who must overnight in Vancouver either on their way to our lodge or on your way home, we recommend that you stay at one of Peregrine Lodge’s preferred hotels.
Be sure to mention to the concierge that you will be fishing with Peregrine Lodge so that you can receive our special rates. It is our pleasure to assist you in making your reservation for you, let us know and we will take care of the details!

Vancouver to Peregrine Lodge
Prior to arriving at Peregrine Lodge, you will receive complimentary shuttle service from either Fairmont Vancouver Airport, Pacific Getaway, or River Rock Casino Resort to a private airport, the Landmark Aviation.
You will be provided with parking at the airport for a nominal fee, but you are free to also check in with your hotel to see if they have guest parking available as well. It is roughly 10 minutes by car from YVR Airport, and you are expected to check in between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm.
We would like to note that prior to leaving Vancouver, our guests are required to complete the Guest Information Form. Prior to your arrival, an official Peregrine Lodge hostess will be waiting to escort you into our private lounge where you can relax while you wait to depart.
The day of the departure from Vancouver, you will leave for Masset at 3:15 pm, and from there, you will transfer to Peregrine Lodge on a 10 minute beautifully scenic helicopter ride. If the weather conditions are optimal, you should be able to arrive at the lodge between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm.
What to Bring
Your luggage must weigh less than 25 pounds/11 kilograms for your helicopter flight to the lodge as there are size and space restrictions. If it happens to be that your luggage exceeds the weight requirements, you could be asked to remove the items to lighten the weight capacity. Guests are warned that the luggage liability limit is $200. From experience over the years, we have noticed that soft carry-on luggage works best.
Prior to arriving at the lodge, you must purchase your fishing license. A BC Tidal Waters Sport Fishing License with a salmon conservation stamp is required to retain your catch.
Although the lodge’s dress code is casual, we highly suggest that guests dress for the warm weather with a light jacket to prepare for any rainy weather during their trip. For your stay at Peregrine Lodge, we will be providing you with a 2-piece (Mustang Survival Suit Coast Guard Approved) rain gear and boots.
The following items are essential to your travel and stay at Peregrine Lodge:
- Necessary travel documentation, including valid passport for everyone coming to Peregrine Lodge from outside of Canada
- Required medication (especially if you are prone to motion sickness)
- Swimwear for the hot tub
- Electronic devices (iPad, iPod, camera)
