Saltwater Fishing

Peregrine Lodge’s unique geographical location offers some of the best saltwater fishing in the Pacific Northwest. The rugged shores and coastal entry of our location offer the perfect holding grounds for large runs of migrating salmon and halibut. The record salmon at Peregrine Lodge is 76 pounds and the record halibut is 270 pounds!

Haida Gwaii’s unique positioning means that it receives the highest concentration of salmon passing through its water compared to any other west coast location!

Fishing License

A fishing license and salmon conservation stamp is required from all guests prior to their trip at Peregrine Lodge. Fishing licenses are required for both freshwater and saltwater fishing.

The Government of Canada has regulations on sports fishing in the Pacific Ocean and the freshwater sources within the province. Catches that must be recorded on your license in ink are Chinook, Lingcod and halibut.

Licenses can be purchased online and printed. Ensure that your fishing license is with you and ready at all times. Your license must be carried when fishing and while traveling with your fish. To learn more about fishing license, click here.
