Fishing Report August 9-August 13, 2023
We just wrapped up our 17th trip of the 2023 season here at peregrine! This month has been treating us well up here in Haida Gwaii with some outstanding weather and some incredible fishing. Another group is boarding the helicopters and heading home with their full limits of fish and memories that will last a lifetime. We pride ourselves on having guests enter our lodge as strangers, grow closer as friends throughout there trip, and leave as a forever member of our peregrine family.
This trip had some beautiful days out on the water with mixes of sun, rain and light mist throughout the trip. This kind of weather is what Haida Gwaii is all about, and the rainbows that appear when that sun comes out never fails to put a smile on our faces. We love this area for all it provides and could not be more thankful to be able to fish in such a pristine and beautiful location.
The fishing over the past few days has been great with many chinooks over 20lbs hitting our docks. Some of our guides found the fishing to be so good that they were tubbed out for the day before 11am! As always the cohos are dime a dozen up here and are ranging from 8lbs to 12lbs. The fish are plentiful this month and we cant wait to see what the rest of Hogust has in store for us!
