Fishing Report July 23-July 26, 2023

Wrapping up the 12th trip of the season today all we can see are smiling guests and full tubs as far as the. eye can see! This trip was full of sunshine, calm winds, and as always, big fish! We really did have some outstanding weather over the past few days and the guides could not be more thankful to feel the sun on their skin while they’re out on the water. Something about glassy waters and clear blue skies puts everyone in a great mood! Even when the wind picked up on the last day, the good weather energy carried over.

This trip was full of 7-9lbs coho and 15-20lbs spring. These fish put up a great fight and are a ton of fun to reel in. The feeling you get when you see that bend in the rod, and the reel starts spooling out is truly unmatched. There is nothing better and after it happens once you’ll be waiting on the edge of your seat for it to happen again. Fortunately in Haida Gwaii you never have to wait long! Our guides were reporting countless double headers throughout the trip and often times could keep two rods in the water for longer than a couple minutes!
